Today, the right-wing political party ARENA Registered with the Salvadoran Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) their 2024 Presidential Candidates.
Joel Sanchez and Hilcia Bonilla look to win the presidency and defeat the New Ideas presidential formula of Nayib Bukele and Felix Ulloa. Sanchez pledged to “reestablish constitutional order” in El Salvador.

Joel Sanchez assured that if he wins the presidency, he will continue with the good projects the Bukele administration has done. “We are not going to invent things that we do not need; we will continue the good things that exist in the Nayib Bukele’s administration,” stated Sanchez.
The ARENA candidate noted that the first thing will be to restore constitutional order in the country.

Joel Sanchez has criticized the possible re-election of Nayib Bukele because, according to him, Bukele’s candidacy is unconstitutional. He has also stated that the State of Exception must end.
The ARENA formula is the third to request registration with the TSE, which began receiving requests from presidential candidates last September 7.
To date, the TSE has received three applications for the registration of presidential candidates from ARENA, from the Farabunco Martí National Liberation Front (FMLN), made up of Manuel “El Chino” Flores and Werner Marroquin, and from the Salvadoran Independent Party (PAIS), Jose Cardoza and Irma Sosa.
Presidential candidates have until October 26 to register with the Salvadoran Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE).
