The Salvadoran Tourism Institute (ISTU) announced that the Corona Jocote Fair will be held on October 19 and 20 at Cerro Verde National Park, with an admission fee of $2 per person. On both days, activities will start at 8:00 a.m. and end at 5:00 p.m.

The Corona Jocote Fair at Cerro Verde offers a one-of-a-kind experience, celebrating Salvadoran gastronomy with a focus on one of the country’s most cherished fruits: the Corona Jocote. This vibrant event showcases local flavors and cultural traditions.
At the Jocote Corona Fair, visitors can explore and purchase a variety of creative, handcrafted Salvadoran products, including necklaces, bracelets, earrings, clothing, handbags, shoes, and even scented candles, among other unique items.
Of course, Visitors will be able to taste a wide array of delicious dishes featuring the sweet Corona Jocote fruit, including desserts, artisan pizzas, cold drinks, Atoles, pupusas, and sorbet, among others.
Jocote Corona and Crafts
The Jocotes and different products made from this fruit will be supplied by local artisans and Jocote farms, including Finca Vista Hermosa and Finca San Jorge.
Finca Vista Hermosa and Finca San Jorge sit on the slopes of Cerro Verde Park and produce approximately 23 thousand jocotes per day during the harvest period.
The Jocote Corona or winter Jocote grows at high altitudes around volcanic areas such as Cerro Verde and San Vicente Volcano. It is common to find Corona Jocote trees growing around coffee farms.
