Volaris Airlines El Salvador announced a new route connecting El Salvador to the city of Chicago in the United States, becoming the eighth route that the airline operates from El Salvador to the US.

The route will connect San Salvador, El Salvador, via Guatemala City, with O’Hare Airport in Chicago, Illinois.
Illinois is home to more than 244,000 Central Americans. Of those, there are 120,000 Guatemalans, followed by 90,000 Hondurans and 70,000 Salvadorans.
According to Volaris Airlines El Salvador, the route will operate three times a week, on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
The flight will depart El Salvador International Airport at 4:53 p.m., heading to La Aurora International Airport, where you will make a one-hour stopover and will arrive at Chicago O’Hare at 11:00 p.m.
The flight from Chicago O’Hare is scheduled for 12:30 in the morning, with a one hour stopover in Guatemala, arriving at the Salvadoran international airport at 6:46 a.m.
