San Salvador Center has bestowed one of its highest honors on Jorge “Mágico” González, naming him Meritorious Son. The recognition celebrates the legendary Salvadoran footballer’s enduring legacy, both as a national icon and as a global ambassador of talent.
On Wednesday, September 17, the San Salvador Centro Municipal Council, presided over by Mayor Mario Durán, unanimously approved the distinction for Jorge “El Mágico” González, widely regarded as the greatest soccer player in El Salvador’s history.
The honor, among the municipality’s highest recognitions, celebrates figures whose legacies have left an enduring mark on the nation.
