The 2022 Surf City El Salvador ALAS Pro tour six stars is set for November at Las Flores beach

The 2022 Surf City El Salvador ALAS Pro tour six stars surf tournament is set to take place at Las Flores beach from November 23th to the 26th. This is the first time a Latin American surf tournament will be held in the eastern zone of the country.

This surfing event in eastern El Salvador will award two spots for the 19th Pan American Games to be held in Santiago de Chile, from October 20 to November 5, 2023.

Morena Valdez, the Salvadoran Minister stated that they are expecting more than 300 athletes, “our tourism staff is already preparing,” said the minister.

In the east, we have 30 good spots to surf and we have 4 world-class surfing spots. Las Flores is the only one in the region that can be used to learn, for intermediate surfers to use, and of course for professional surfers.” Morena Valdez.

Las Flores beach is one of the best surf spots in El Salvador and one of the main spots in the Surf City El Salvador project. Recently, President Nayib Bukele announced an inversion of over $80 million to improve the infrastructure of the coastal area near Las Flores beach.

Thanks to its excellent waves, the organizational capacity, and the involvement of the Government of President Nayib Bukele through the Surf City flagship project, El Salvador was once again designated by the ALAS Pro-Tour Association to organize one of the circuits of this international championship. El Salvador’s Surf City ALAS Pro Tour 2021 Surf Championship Finishes

Yesterday December 5th, the Surf City ALAS Pro Tour 2021 Surf Championship concluded. The event took place at Playa Punta Roca from December 2nd to the 5th. Punta Roca beach is one of the best surf spots in El Salvador and one of the iconic beaches in El Salvador’s Surf City.

Venezuelan Francisco Bellorin won the men’s open, and Dominic Barona from Ecuador won the women’s open. Argentinian Martin Perez won the longboard competition, and Tao Rodriguez of Panama won the Junior competition.

The Surf City El Salvador ALAS Pro Tour was the closing event for the 2021 season of the ALAS Pro Tour; this is a professional circuit organized by the Latin American Association of Professional Surfers.

In this final surfing championship, the Continental Champions of the ALAS Pro Tour were also crowned. Tao Rodriguez from Panama and Martin Perez from Argentina won their respective division at Surf City. But, they also won the Continental Title in their category, Junior and Longboard, respectively.

Peruvians Miguel Tudela and Sol Aguirre have been crowned the Continental Champions in Open Men and Open Women.

“I am super happy and super grateful. Everything has been very spontaneous. This year has had many ups and downs.” Stated Sol Aguirre, the Women’s Continental Champion.

The Latin American Association of Professional Surfers thanked all those who made the Surc City event possible.

The ALAS pro tour gave thanks to the government of President Nayib Bukele for their support in making the El Salvador event one of the most anticipated dates of the year.


El Salvador to Host the December “ALAS Pro Tour 2021 Surfing Championship”

The Latin American Association of Professional Surfers (ALAS) announced on November 5 that the 2021 ALAS Pro Tour surfing championship will be hosted by El Salvador.

This surfing event will take place at Punta Roca beach in La Libertad, from December 2 to 5. It will be the last surfing competition of the 2021 ALAS Pro Tour season.

The Surf City El Salvador ALAS Pro 2021 returns to the emblematic waves of Punta Roca, one of the most perfect rights in the world.” Alaslatintour.com.

This surfing event will be another top international surf tournament hosted at the Surf City El Salvador beaches. Last May, El Salvador successfully hosted the 2021 ISA World Surfing Games.

The surf beaches in El Salvador are open for business. El Salvador received the Safe Destination Seal from the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC). The WTTC approved all eight biosafety protocols put in place for the tourism sector.

Karin Sierralta, President of ALAS, indicated that “for ALAS, it is always an honor to be received by Surf City El Salvador and its people.”

This event is one of the most anticipated by the surfers who compete in the ALAS Pro Tour; for all that El Salvador offers and its excellent waves.” Karin Sierralta.

According to ALAS, this surf event has a 6-Star Prime designation. Surfers will compete for over $40,000 in prizes and will receive important ALAS Ranking points.

The competition will offer equal payments for the Open Men and Open Women categories. Surfers can compete in the following categories, Open Men, Open Women, Junior (U18), and Longboard.

El Salvador has established itself as a top surfing destination. It also has demonstrated a capacity to organize and host international surf events.

All surf events held at Salvadoran beaches have been successful and had strict biosafety standards, guaranteeing the health of all participants.
