Cardedeu Hotel Centro Histórico. SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador — A new luxury hotel has opened in the heart of El Salvador’s capital, offering high-end accommodations and a unique historical experience.
The Cardedeu Hotel Centro Histórico, an investment of approximately $6 million, officially opened its doors Monday, aiming to attract both business travelers and tourists.
Gabriela Sol, CEO of Cardedeu Hotel, pointed out how the place perfectly mixes modern luxury with a touch of history.
The hotel is housed in the restored Colón Building, a more than a century-old structure that once operated as a theater. Elements of its past, including original curtains and architectural details, have been carefully preserved to maintain its historic charm.
“We want every guest to experience the essence of the Historic Center,” Sol said. “Cardedeu is not just a hotel; it’s an experience that connects the past with the present.”
The hotel features 31 rooms, including six suites with direct views of the Historic Center and single and double accommodations. Each room is designed with high-quality furnishings and amenities, including in-room safes and business-friendly features.

To make the guest experience even better, the hotel has two excellent dining spots: Silvestre Restaurant, with a cozy yet upscale atmosphere, and CEACHE Rooftop Gastrobar, where you can enjoy fantastic city views while you eat.
Tourism Minister Morena Valdez praised the project, emphasizing the collaboration between government agencies and investors in revitalizing the Historic Center.
“This is a project I’m proud to showcase to foreign tourists, thanks to the extensive restoration efforts,” remarked Minister Valdez.
Sol also acknowledged the government’s role in improving security and infrastructure, which has driven tourism and investment in the region.

“The transformations happening in El Salvador are remarkable, and we know the Historic Center’s increasing popularity will benefit our hotel,” she said.
