LABITCONF, the Latin American Bitcoin & Blockchain Conference, started today in El Salvador. This is Latin America’s oldest and most important conference on Bitcoin and Blockchain.

Discover the first country where Bitcoin is Legal Currency. Come to learn, connect and start projects with the leaders of the region and the world,” reads the LATITCONF website.

The smallest country in Central America takes center stage by hosting the 2021 event. El Salvador is the first in the world to adopt cryptocurrency as a legal tender.

The event will go from November 15 to 20. According to organizers, “Salvadorans will be able to understand from scratch, topics such as speculation management, types of cryptocurrencies, advantages of different wallets, job opportunities.”

This event arrives in El Salvador at the right time for President Nayib Bukele and his administration. Bitcoin is approaching its all-time highs again, and the adoption of cryptocurrency is boasting in the region.

Some of the feature speakers for the event are keynote speakers Max Keiser, Casa’s Jameson Lopp, Stephan Livera, and Anita Posch.

The El Salvador event is the ninth; this yearly event aims to help Latin American individuals gain financial freedom through the benefits of Bitcoin.

The conference will have plenty of interesting things, for instance, Q and A sessions about the bitcoin implementation in El Salvador. Also, talks with local and international attorneys about legal Bitcoin topics.

Furthermore, the event will have live music and a local fair where attendees can buy local arts and crafts using Bitcoins.

With the implementation of Bitcoin, El Salvador has managed to be the focus of the international community. With those in favor of Bitcoin and those against it.

President Nayib Bukele tweeted that today in El Salvador, more people have Bitcoin wallets than bank accounts.

There is one country on Earth where there are more people using Bitcoin wallets than bank accounts,” wrote Nayib Bukele on Twitter.

Although President Bukele maintains that Bitcoin will help Salvadorans, many have protested the implementation of the cryptocurrency as a legal tender.

There are many people, locally and internationally, that oppose El Salvador’s Bitcoin implementation. Economist Steve Hanke is one of them.

This week, El Salvador will host the Latin American Bitcoin Conference, or “Bitcoin Week.” With ELSL’s massive Bitcoin rollout problems, and the public’s rejection of Bitcoin, it will be an event worth watching. The lies will be thicker than flies,” stated Hanke.
