Salvadoran lawyer Enrique Anaya, a detractor of the current president, asked Salvadorans to vote against Nayib Bukele in the 2024 presidential elections. Anaya made the statement at a November 22 Radio YSUCA 91.7 FM interview.

Enrique Anaya urged the Salvadoran political opposition to resist succumbing to “despair” and encouraged them to employ the “only tool left” to prevent the re-election of President Nayib Bukele.

Let’s not fall into despair. Let’s not say look, we’re going to last five or ten more years. We have a tool to avoid it (the vote), and even though it is an unconstitutional candidacy, let’s prevent him from winning; we can achieve it, we can do it. Let’s not fall into despair. Enrique Anaya.

Anaya has submitted numerous appeals to the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE), urging them not to approve the registration of Nayib Bukele as a presidential candidate. The TSE denied all the requests.

Lawyers Salvador Enrique Anaya and José Marinero asked the TSE for a review of the rejection of their petitions to cancel President Bukele’s presidential candidacy. Diario El Mundo.

Enrique Anaya has denounced the Supreme Electoral Tribunal for not considering his appeal and denying Nayib Bukele the chance of a second presidential term.

That’s how it is. The TSE made public its absurd and fallacious resolutions. It happened as planned: a hidden TSE and telling lies. The most obvious: it’s a coincidence with CAPRES and its trolls! Lawyer Enrique Anaya.

Nayib Bukele can register as a presidential candidate due to a ruling set by the Salvadoran Constitutional Chamber on a demand by Enrique Anaya to remove the citizen rights of Nancy Marichel Díaz de Martínez for promoting a presidential re-election.

The Constitutional Chamber admitted a claim for the loss of the rights of citizens of Nancy Diaz de Martínez for having promoted the re-election or continuation of the President of the Republic, Nayib Bukele.

Through the resolution, the Constitutional Camber orders the TSE to comply with what is established so that a person who exercises the Presidency of the Republic can participate in the electoral contest for the second time. Salvadoran Constitutional Chamber.

Anaya not only lost the demand against Nancy Marichel Díaz, but his suit opened the door for Nayib Bukele to register as a presidential candidate. Surveys show that Nayib Bukele is on pace to easily win the 2024 elections.
