Starting in November 2022, Frontier Airlines will offer a direct flight between Atlanta and El Salvador. This is good news for those traveling between the United States and El Salvador as they will have another low-cost flying option.

The low-cost airline announced that the flight would depart from the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to the San Oscar Arnulfo Romero International airport. Initially, there will be two flights per week.

Frontier Airlines is a major low-cost airline headquartered in Denver, Colorado; it operates flights to over 100 destinations throughout the United States and over 30 international destinations.

Frontier started offering services to El Salvador in April 2021. This is the third budget airline operating in the country, including Spirit and Volaris. Frontier claims that it is one of the greenest airlines in the United States, with technology that allows them to save 40% on fuel.

These three airlines offer some of the lowest fares to and from El Salvador. This means they keep the overhead costs as low as possible and additional services such as food, entertainment, or extra luggage are not included in the ticket base price.

This new option is good news for Salvadorans looking to travel to Atlanta or other cities in the United States. The Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport has daily flights connecting to other major US cities.

The new route is arriving at the right time as the December holidays are approaching; the Christmas holidays bring thousands of travelers to El Salvador.

Also, El Salvador is experiencing a surge in tourism in 2022. Tourism in El Salvador has recovered and has already reached pre-pandemic levels.

More travel options from El Salvador to the United States or vice versa are optimal for all travelers. It creates a low-fare competition with other traditional carriers such as Avianca, American, Delta, and United; this is good news!
