
Avianca Airlines inaugurated its direct connection between El Salvador and Madrid; for Avianca, it will be the longest flight operating in Central America.
We congratulate Avianca on the opening of its new San Salvador – Madrid route, which will operate three times a week during the high season. According to the airline, the new flight will strengthen El Salvador’s connectivity with Spain and the rest of the European continent.
The route will be available from June 20 to September 20, 2023, with three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, with a capacity to transport 6,700 travelers per month.
With this new destination, Avianca reaffirms El Salvador as a hub for connections to America and Europe; it is providing Salvadorans new connectivity options to Europe via Madrid.

The Minister of Tourism, Morena Valdez, assured that the opening of this route would bring more visitors from different European countries to the country.
Also, Avianca pointed out that with this destination, Salvadorans will be able to travel to 50 cities in Europe and Asia through an alliance with other airlines from the old continent.
Now, Salvadorans traveling to Europe could only do so with a direct connection with the Spanish line Iberia or with stops across South America or the United States.
Avianca also announced that in July, it will inaugurate a flight to Las Vegas, and in the second half of 2023, they expect to have a route to Oakland.
