Dominican airline Arajet begins operations connecting El Salvador with the Dominican Republic

On Saturday, September 17th, 2022, the Dominican airline Arajet officially inaugurated its operations connection El Salvador with the Dominican Republic. This operation will strengthen ties of friendship, tourism, trade, and economic opportunities between the two nations.

On this day, we received the first flight of the Dominican airline Arajet in our country, beginning its commercial operations in the Americas and the Caribbean.” CEPA.

The low-cost airline will connect El Salvador with the Dominican Republic with two weekly flights from Santo Domingo to the Oscar Arnulfo Romero international airport.

“It is an honor for our country to receive the first commercial flight of the airline in the Central American region,” said CEPA president Anliker. Also, Victor Pacheco, Arajet CEO, announced that the airline would add two more flights starting in November.

Cristian Flores, Presidential Commissioner for Strategic Project of El Salvador, declared: “The start of operations of Arajet in El Salvador is the result of an inter-institutional effort by the Government of the President Nayib Bukele, which reflects the commitment to accompany national and foreign companies to start their operations.”

CEPA president Federico Anliker stated that Arajet is the 13th airline operating in El Salvador, “which ratifies the image that El Salvador projects to the world today.”

The more airlines that offer services to El Salvador, the more low-cost options that travelers will have available. In August 2022, Frontier Airlines began a direct route to Atlanta, USA.

During the inauguration of Arajet first flight, Morena Valdez, Salvadoran Minister of Tourism, highlighted the Government’s efforts to attract investment to the country.

The Nayib Bukele administration has focused on improving tourism to El Salvador; it includes improving travel logistics in and out of the country.

The international airport has received intense improvements, and the Government is getting ready to begin constructing the Pacific Airport in La Union.
